Arnold Clark in St Helens has illuminated signs plans approved

PLANS to install illuminated signage at a car dealers have been given approval.

Consent was sought from the council to display the signs at Arnold Clark Renault, off Delphwood Drive, Sherdley Road.

Plans included for five internally illuminated fascia signs, two internally illuminated totem panel signs, one internally illuminated e-tech panel sign, three knitted polyester flags and one non-illuminated panel sign.

The proposed advertisements include:

The planning application, which was submitted to St Helens Council in April, has been granted consent.

Recommending approval, case officer Alex Ball said in a report: "The advertisements are appropriate to the use of the building and forecourt.

"The design and appearance of the signages are in keeping with the character of the existing building and industrial/commercial nature of the area and would replace existing signage on-site.

"I consider that the signage would not form a distracting feature within the street scene and would not adversely impact on the character and appearance of the local area."
